I've always been fascinated with language and the way we use it to conceptualize thoughts into meaning. This led me to a bachelor's degree in linguistics (the systematic study of language) from California State University, Fullerton. My education followed some time later with a certificate in the rigorous copyediting program from the University of California, San Diego Extension.  

 

My editing work has included fiction and nonfiction books, devotional literature, academic research papers, marketing collateral (including website content, blogs, newsletters, brochures, direct-mail marketing, and e-campaigns), as well as business documents ranging from high-volume disclosures to specialized case studies.

 

I have familiarity and access to a variety of style guides, including The Chicago Manual of Style, The Associated Press Stylebook, and The Yahoo! Style Guide—generally used for book publishing, journalism, and web content respectively.
